Sella was eager for the company of fellow Icelanders when she arrived in Norfolk, Virginia in 1983. She soon found one Icelandic woman in town, who pointed to another. Like unraveling the threads in a woolen sweater, she found, within a year, well over 100 Icelanders and formed the Icelandic Association in Norfolk.

Hey everybody! As I’m sure many of you know, Iceland has gone into a mini lockdown due to rising cases of COVID. No fatalities have been reported, but in an attempt to prevent further spread, gyms, pools, and other establishments have been shut down, and stricter distancing policies have been put in place with current regulations set to be enforced through October 19.
